Hooked on Science H1N1 Flu
The H1N1 Flu “Swine Flu” continues to cause
illness,hospitalizations, and deaths worldwide.
It was April 2009 when the ‘pig-headed’ virus was first
detected in humans in the United States. Since then, the
virus continues to spread from person to person here in
America. The good news is that basic health precautions
can significantly reduce your chances of getting the infection.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages
you to take these everyday basic health precautions:

Wash your hands often with soap and water.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and then
throw the tissue in the trash.
Avoid close contact with people infected with the H1N1 Flu.

Educating kids about the H1N1 Flu is important. Through these hands-on, Hooked on Science experiments kids will learn how germs are everywhere, how germs spread, and
how to correctly wash their hands.
