Jason Lindsey is an award winning outreach science educator.  Each year Lindsey performs science experiments at hundreds of schools and community events.  Lindsey’s science segment “Hooked on Science” airs on television stations across America and has earned these awards for outstanding science coverage.

Lindsey is actively involved in bringing more science to America.  October 3^rd has been proclaimed "Science Day" by city, county, and state leaders throughout the nation.  On Friday, September 29th, 2006 Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson made a speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives recognizing "Science Day."  Emerson highlighted the importance of science in Missouri and commended Lindsey for promoting science.  Emerson's remarks were recorded and published in the Congressional Record.

On October 3, 2007 Lindsey organized "Science Day 2007."  More than 2000 people showed up to help Lindsey break a world record for the "Most Mentos and soda fountains" launched at once.  More than 1000 "Mentos and soda fountains" were launched breaking the previous record of more than 800 launched in the Netherlands.

Each summer Lindsey takes a vacation to teach kid friendly science courses.  In 2006, Lindsey created the "Jason Lindsey Outstanding Science Student Scholarship," which is awarded annually to an underprivileged student attending Southeast Missouri State University and majoring in science.

Lindsey is a member of the National Weather Association, the National Science Teachers Association, and Science Teachers of Missouri.
